Five signs you need a detox

Our natural detox system is in place but sometimes, when facing stress, the system can slow down and that is when you need to take a step back and work on cleansing your system. Your immune system, kidneys, and liver work hand in hand to eliminate toxins from your body as soon as they enter it.

However, when these toxins surpass the body’s ability to remove them, they then get stored away inside us for long periods of time until we take action to get rid of them completely.

You are always tired

Even after getting adequate hours of sleep and rest and still feel exhausted all the time, a toxin overload in your system could be the reason. When your body is overwhelmed with toxins, it encourages a lot of stress on your adrenal glands. A long-term toxic load can lead to adrenal fatigue which makes you feel exhausted and sleepy all the time and for no reason. This should be a wake-up call to cleanse your body.

Unpleasant body odor

If you are constantly experiencing bad breath, bad-smelling gas, and stools, this could be an indication that the liver and colon are struggling to remove a highly toxic load. If you feel like you are bloated for long periods of time, you don’t feel hungry and the bad body odor is persistent, then you need to help your body flush out the toxins. Try a mixture of lemon juice, ginger, and mint leaves infused in water to do a complete flush to effectively detox the liver.

Skin reactions and infections

When your body is overwhelmed with toxins, the liver will fail to keep up with other organs when trying to flush out those toxins through the skin. When the skin tries to eliminate toxins in the body, it reacts badly to the process because it perceives them as poison. This leads to conditions like acne, skin rashes, eczema, or boils.

If you believe your body is high in toxins, and you experience any of these things mentioned above, it is important to try a detoxing diet in order to flush them out of your system. The more you delay, the more your skin infections worsen overtime.

Mood swings

There are days when we are extremely irritable and stressed. When we get overworked, our body and mind tend to feel the stress first. To cope up with the stress, our body produces dopamine and other chemicals but when there is too much negativity in the system, it can block dopamine production, which is the “happy hormone”. If not controlled or repaired, it can even lead to depression and anxiety, which can be more difficult to treat.

It is vital to excrete waste from our bodies on a daily basis or regularly. If you find yourself not having a bowel movement every day due to a lack of antioxidants in your diet, then the toxins are absorbed into your bloodstream and they start building up. Drinking plenty of water along with a diet rich in antioxidants and fiber can eliminate constipation, bloat, and prevent toxins from being absorbed into the bloodstream.
