Black Entertainment Television(BET) has officially released the list of the first round of 2020 artist nominations on their website.
Coming as a shock to many, our very own Kenyan rising star Nadia Mukami has been selected among the best African International Acts for this year’s BET Awards.
Nadia is definitely one of the fastest rising female stars in the Kenyan music industry and her talent is undeniable.
It surely came as a surprise that her name was drafted among big names such as ‘Suzanna’s’ hitmakers Sauti Sol and Tanzania’s ‘Konde Boy’ Harmonize.
“Meanwhile I have been selected for round 1 of BET nominations alongside Sauti Sol. I’m really humbled by the fact that they thought of me Nadia wa Mwihoko. That means the brand is growing. I really thank God and I’m greatful for his favor.”
Nadia wrote on her Instagram timeline.
BET awards are very strict on merit and the panel only chooses the best artists in their field. Which shows that Mukami is indeed proving her worth in the entertainment industry.
Shaffie Weru who joined BET Academy representing East Africa said, “This is about being an academy of the top minds in Entertainment and choosing the best artistes in each category,” when speaking to Word Is.
The official dates for the BET awards are yet to be announced.
Many fans have crossed their fingers hoping that the ‘nikune’ hitmaker Nadia Mukami gets to the final round and raise the flag for African female artists.
