Ethic Entertainment has been hyping about their upcoming album for days and weeks now through their socials. The Big Man Bado Odinare album is set to launch this month on the 13th.
On production, the majority of songs are said to be under the stewardship of sample master Motif Di Do and huge collaborations from Bensoul, Khaligraph Jones, and South Africa’s first lady Sho Madjozi are set to feature in the album. However, Ethic’s process of seeking potential collaborators in their upcoming album did not go well after popular Kenyan rapper Octopizzo, declined to work with the group of four to produce a potential hit.
It all started when Ethic Entertainment took to twitter and that was on 29th May and posted;
The Gengetone’s group producer made futile attempts to reach Octopizzo to work with them but the rapper chose to ignore and even hinted that the Sailors group was better after Ethic threw subliminal shade towards Octo by saying Kaligraph Jones was better than him.
They claim to have given Octopizzo the golden opportunity to be in the album.
We gave @OCTOPIZZO the privilege to be on our super dope album but hakuona vision, truth ni numbers ziko but ange kuja tu na zile mathogothanio zake, video for the song wasnt part of the plan…all in all watch out june 13th album droppin, ‘BIG MAN BADO ODINARE’ Ni mbwaya ni moto – Ethic Official
This has attracted different reactions on social media where critiques felt Octopizzo was full of pride and that Kaligraph was indeed better than him. With many coming to say that the group was right Octopizzo is just but trash and captioning all the screenshots and retweeting, Octopizzo went ahead and wrote;
Octopizo seemed sarcastic about his comment. In reality, we all know he was joking about the whole situation and trying to reveal that he is team Sailors all the way who are also Gengetone artists.
